Top bearing trends: IoT, new materials, and innovation lubrication modes

By Mike Santora || IoT and predictive maintenance remain critical areas of focus and innovation for the bearing industry in 2020 — as do advances in lubrication and material science. To get a better understanding of these technologies and what developments to expect, we asked some of top bearing industry experts for their take on what’s new and what’s coming from their companies in 2020. The widespread adoption of condition monitoring technologies such as vibration analysis is a testament to the early adopters who pioneered their use within the industry. These technologies transformed the way we think about maintenance by providing users the ability to determine the health of an asset without interfering with its operation. The industrial internet of things (IIoT), coupled with declining sensor costs, has further accelerated the use of these technologies and enabled remote monitoring of real-time data, automated analysis, and instantaneous alerts. “One challenge that we see frequently is customers becoming disenfranchised with the technology because it wasn’t applied correctly to the asset and, as a result, does not provide advanced warning of faults or degradation. Toilet paper are DESTROYED when delivery truck crashes and burst into flames

The semi-trailer caught fire on the Gateway Motorway near Murrarie in Brisbane on Wednesday night as toilet paper panic buying intensified across Australia.  Firefighters and ambulance crews rushed to the scene, with the truck blocking the northbound lanes of the motorway. A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the truck driver was unharmed and no other vehicle was involved in the crash.  It’s understood the cabin of the truck, which was also carrying wood, melted onto the road after the explosion. Increasing concerns about coronavirus have seen a spike in demand for everyday essentials – particularly toilet paper, which is racing off the shelves. Kleenex, one of the country’s biggest brands owned by Kimberly-Clark, told customers on social media it is in the midst of making more rolls.  Kleenex told customers on social media not to panic as they are in the midst of making more toilet rolls ‘We are working around the clock at our mill in South Australia to keep the supermarket shelves stocked with Kleenex Complete Clean toilet paper.’ ‘As you can see, we won’t be running out any time soon,’ it said, sharing ...

Saudis did not discount to spite Russia. April contract price $58.50. Friday spot price $45.27. Difference – $13.13 drop. Buyers commit March 10th for April delivery. – Oil (General)

The only one that has seriously cut production is President Trump ie Iran and Venezuela.  Then add in Libya. There is a good chance OPEC is finished.  If Russia agreed to the cuts they would not have held up and exposed the OPEC CARTEL for what it is . . .  a joke The virus created at least a 4mm bbl/day oversupply.  That’s all that is needed to create a free market competitive market. Saudis have practiced predatory pricing against U.S. oil industry over the last 50 years. It’s changing. The market will work it out.  The oil industry prices has been artificially held high for years.  It’s hard to change demand.  Oil producers can change supply.  If too much oil prices drop. High end producers go away.  It’s only natural.  As producers go away prices rise.  In the U.S. we have antitrust laws against Predatory Pricing.  But guess that doesn’t apply against Saudi Arabia.  Maybe it should.  Maybe it’s time has come.  EDIT: Again, it doesn’t matter what you or I think.  The only thing that matters is what the price does.   EDIT: Again, it doesn’t matter what you or I think.  The only thing that matters is what the price does.   My poin...
